Beyond Impact Blue (Part 2) (番外編 インパクトブルーの彼方に(後編), Bangai-hen inpakutoburū no kanata ni (Kōhen), "Extra Edition Beyond Impact Blue (Continued)") is an extra chapter of Initial D. It follows Mako Sato and Sayuki as they face off against Emperor. It was adapted into the second half of Act 1 of Initial D Extra Stage. It is a two-part chapter, continuing from Beyond Impact Blue.
Plot[]
At the start line, Satake reassures Ren Nogami that everything will be fine, saying that there's a -200% chance of him losing to two girls in a SilEighty. The two cars start down the course, and the spectators hope that Mako and Sayuki will win, as they're the best in the area. Sayuki notes that the Evo IV is clinging to them, and is unsure if that's to do with the car or the driver's skills. Sayuki is confused by Mako's driving.
Meanwhile, Takeshi Nakazato agrees with Shingo Shoji, telling him that their drifting is too playful and wastes their tyres. He says that he last saw them drive back in spring, and admits that they could have improved significantly. He admits some FRs can beat 4WDs, like Takumi and his Eight-Six. Shingo says that he's a special case, and that if the girls ever had a chance to see the Eight-Six they'd get a lot out of it, unaware that they had already faced him.
Sayuki notices that Mako's steering is a lot tighter than it used to be, she assumes that she's modeling her driving after Akina's Eight-Six. She notices that the Evo isn't able to follow them in the corners, and guesses that he isn't the driver who beat the Myogi NightKids. The SilEighty approaches C-121, and Sayuki tells Mako that they can push their speed further than usual because of Mako's newfound control. They enter into the corner, and Satake follows them in at the same speed, but is unable to follow them all the way through. He slides out and collides with the guardrail. Satake and Ren Nogami would later return to Kyoichi, though they didn't tell him the events of their trip.
The next day, Mako and Sayuki are out in the SilEighty. Mako says that Satake wasn't very good, but Sayuki disagrees, saying that if they'd gone up against him before they'd lost to Takumi then the race would have been tough. She says that their improved cornering sealed the deal, especially with the flashy drift Mako pulled through C-121. Mako thinks they have a while to go. She tells Sayuki that she doesn't need a man for a while. She says that she has a surprise for the Eight-Six next time she sees him., and that Iketani should watch out.
At the same time at the Esso Gas Station, Iketani sneezes, and Takumi asks him if he has a cold.
