A Declaration of Revenge! The 13B's Howling Turbo (リベンジ宣言!! 吠える13Bターボ, Ribenji Sengen!! Hoeru 13B Tābo, "Declaration of Revenge!! The Howling 13B Turbo") is the fifth chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

Iketani notices that Keisuke seems tense, and asks him if he's alright. Keisuke asks him if there's a ghost on Mt. Akina, a "phantom Eight-Six". Iketani doesn't take him seriously, but Keisuke insists that there's an ordinary Eight-Six that tears up the road on the mountain. Iketani tells him he's never heard of such a thing, which Keisuke doesn't believe, telling him that he'll be glad to wait until their race if that Eight-Six is their secret weapon. He asks Iketani to pass on a message to the driver, that the only reason he was beaten was because he wasn't ready. Iketani realises that Yuichi may actually have been telling the truth, that the tofu shop Eight-Six is really the fastest car on Akina.

Iketani practices on Akina, trying new techniques to improve his runs, but he is unable to lower his time.

In the early hours of the morning, Takumi heads off on his delivery runs.

The next day, Itsuki reminds Takumi about Saturday, much to Takumi's annoyance. Itsuki says he wants to watch them so he can learn all their skills and become the fastest racer in Akina. Takumi walks off as Itsuki continues. The two of them climb the stairs, and comment on the legs of a girl ahead of them, revealed to be Natsuki. Natsuki greets Takumi, and tells him that she wants to talk with him. The two of them head to the school's roof.
