Shingo's Panic (慎吾のあせり, Shingo no Aseri, "Shingo's impatience") is the thirty-fourth chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

The two cars speed through the corners, and Shingo is amazed at how Takumi is drifting with zero-countersteering, as it took him hours to master driving with one hand. On the straightaway Shingo pulls alongside Takumi before dropping back behind to show him that can overtake at anytime.

Further up the mountain, the SpeedStars are following behind. Iketani is unable to shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen, and keeps expecting to see a crash.

In the Eight-Six, Takumi realises that he can corner faster without turning the wheel as much, something he wouldn't have thought of without the handicap. Takumi performs a four-wheel drift through the next corner with no hesitation even though there was an oncoming car. Shingo is amazed by Takumi's skill, and vows to beat him no matter what it takes, implying that he'll leave the Eight-Six in a wreck.
