An Honorable Demise - A Fireball Battle (玉砕上等 火の玉バトル, Gyokusai Jōtō Hinotama Batoru, "Bring on the honorable defeat, spirit on fire battle") is the one hundred and first chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

On Akagi, the RedSuns lookouts are timing Emperor's runs, but aren't getting much data as they aren't going at their full speed.

Seiji reports back to Kyoichi, saying that he's ready for the races. He asks Kyoichi if he thinks Takumi will show up, and he says that there's about a 50% chance of him showing up. He thinks it'd be more convenient if he did show up, as he wants to beat him before he beats Ryosuke and they leave Gunma.

Keisuke notices the Eight-Six driving up the mountain, and runs to tell Ryosuke. Keisuke says they shouldn't let the Eight-Six race Emperor, but Ryosuke reminds him that it's a public road, and that it's not their concern.

At the Fujiwara Tofu Store, Bunta has a feeling that something bad is going to happen.

Takumi arrives at the top of Akagi, and Kyoichi tells him that he respects him for showing up, but that he won't hold back against him. Seiji notices a crazy look in Takumi's eyes. Kyoichi gives Takumi a head start to compensate for his lack of power, but tells him that the lead wont last. He tells Takumi to consider it a lesson, that weak cars don't belong in races. The race begins.
