Farewell, Beloved Eight-Six (さよなら大好きなハチロク, Sayonara Daisuki na Hachi Roku, "Goodbye Beloved Eight-Six") is the one hundred and seventh chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
Kyoichi takes the corner, and floors it into the straightaway. Takumi sees Kyoichi leaving him behind, and realises that he has lost. In the same instance, the Eight-Six's engine blows, sending the car into a spin that ends with it stopped in the parking area along the side of the road. Takumi gets out and looks at the now dead Eight-Six. Kyoichi pulls up, and tells Takumi that traditionally a blown engine means that he loses the race, but as he doesn't consider it a race he can forget about it. He says that the Eight-Six looks beyond repair, and that he should scrap it and get a real car, so that they can race again.
