Twilight of a Racing Idol (カリスマ崩壊, Karisuma Hōkai, "The Star Falls") is the one hundred and fourteenth chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

Kyoichi makes his move, and uses his Evo's superior acceleration to leave the corner ahead of Ryosuke. The crowd is shocked, and wonders if Ryosuke will be able to take back the lead. Kyoichi thinks to himself that he has no reason to fear Ryosuke, as his skills are superior, and he's no different from any other street racer.

At Lake Akina, Itsuki and Takumi are skimming stones on the water. Itsuki reckons that the battle on Akagi is over, and asks Takumi who he thinks won, but he says he doesn't care, as he doesn't have a car. He tells Itsuki that being with him is helping to improve his move. He tells Itsuki about what Kyoichi had said to him after the engine blew, and compares him to a teacher.

At an auto shop, Bunta and Masashi prepare to fit the new engine into the Eight-Six. Masashi says that the car will be running by the next day.

On Akagi, Ryosuke compliments Kyoichi's tuning, and admits that he has him beat, at least for the time being.
