The Private Pact (二人だけの約束, Futaridake no Yakusoku, "A private promise") is the one hundred and thirty-first chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
Kazumi tells Itsuki that a customer had screamed at her about her food at work that day, and her manager hadn't stuck up for her, which had caused her to cry. Itsuki is annoyed that they'd treat her like that, and agrees to hang out with her for as long as she wants.
At the Fujiwara Tofu Store, Takumi is surprised to receive a call from Wataru. Wataru says he'd called the information centre for his number, having seen the name of the shop on the side of the Eight-Six. Wataru tells him that he's coming back to Gunma to take Kazumi back to Saitama, but that while he's there he'd like to race against him. Takumi says that he hopes he can get the Eight-Six to its full potential by then. Wataru promises to call back tomorrow, and hangs up.
On Akina, Kazumi coaches Itsuki on driving, teaching him some techniques she had picked up from Wataru. She tells him that the lack of power in the Eight-Five makes it easier to focus on the technique. She says that she feels relaxed having been out driving, and compares it to the first time Wataru took her out. Itsuki tries to convince her to go for her drivers license, saying that could work as the dream she's searching for.
Takumi asks to meet with Iketani, and apologises for calling him out so late, but Iketani says that it's fine. Takumi explains that he needs his help with the new engine in the Eight-Six, explaining that he needs a new tachometer.
Kazumi tells Itsuki that she doesn't want to quit her job anymore, and that she'll go back and apologise tomorrow.
