A Battle Never Fought (やり残したバトル, Yari Nokoshi ta Batoru, "Unfinished Battle") is the one hundred and forty-ninth chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

Takumi takes a few practice runs on Irohazaka, noting how steep the downhill road is.

At the top of the course, Kyoichi is informed by his fellow team members that Takumi has arrived on the mountain. Takumi arrives at the rest stop, and is surprised that he was able to find Kyoichi so easily. Kyoichi questions why he's come to face him with the same Eight-Six, but Takumi explains that he respects his car, and tells him that it isn't the same one he had faced on Akagi. Kyoichi relents, and says that their race on Akagi wasn't proper, and that they haven't had their real battle. Kyoichi tells Takumi that Irohazaka is the toughest course in Kanto, and that he probably wont make it to the bottom.

On Akagi, Keisuke thinks Takumi is disrespectful for asking for a race with Kyoichi. Ryosuke tells him that he's not trying to be rude, he just doesn't have the confidence to join them without having faced off with Kyoichi first.

On Irohazaka, the battle begins.
