The Provacation (触発, Shokuhatsu, "Provocation") is the one hundred and fifty-seventh chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
During his deliveries, Takumi thinks back on what Kyoichi had said to him earlier. He realises that he really does want to be a part of Ryosuke's team, and is excited to learn how to go faster.
At school the next day, Itsuki is interested to know where Takumi had been the night before, as he had spoken with Bunta on the phone. As the two walk together, they notice posters advertising the upcoming cultural festival. The pair are approached by two girls, who tell them that they're holding a poll to find who the girls in the third year think is the coolest guy in the school. Takumi doesn't pay attention, distracted by how similar one of the girls voices sounds. She tells him that he came second in the votes from Class Seven, much to both of their shock. The girl gives Takumi a questionnaire to fill out for the event, and tells him that she'll be back to get it before the end of the day. Takumi is unable to move past how familiar the girls voice sounds, and asks Itsuki if he knows her. Itsuki tells him that he's never talked to her, but that she's friends with Natsuki. Takumi finally realises who she is.
At the gas station, Yuichi tells Bunta about Ryosuke's all star team. Bunta thinks it could be good for Takumi's racing education, as what he can learn is limited on Akina.
Takumi goes to hand back the survey to the girl, but asks her if she was the one who had called him about Natsuki's relationship with the salaryman.
