Still Groping (模索, Mosaku, "Groping") is the one hundred and seventy-second chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
At the bottom of Irohazaka, Kai thanks Takumi for getting out of the way when he span out, as he would have crashed otherwise. He tells Takumi that he had a premonition that he would be defeated back when Bunta passed him on Akina. He says that losing on his own turf hurts, but he hopes that Takumi will give him another chance to take the title someday.
The next morning, at the Fujiwara Tofu Store, Takumi thanks Bunta for his advice, but says he could have made it less confusing. Takumi absentmindedly sips on the cup of water Bunta had given him, forcing him to refill it before sending Takumi off on his deliveries.
At the gas station, Yuichi asks Iketani how Takumi did on Irohazaka. Yuichi is glad to hear that he won, and reckons Bunta is happy too.
At school, Itsuki asks Takumi if the race has helped him find a goal. Takumi says that it hasn't, but its made him realise that he doesn't know anything about the mechanical side of cars, and that he needs to stop relying on his dad for that.
Later, Takumi is approached by Natsuki, who he ignores. She persists, and asks him if he can meet her after school, as she wants some advice from a friend. Takumi is surprised, but Natsuki reasons that if they weren't going out as he had said, then they must be friends.
