Confessions (告白, Kokuhaku, "Confession") is the one hundred and eighty-fifth chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

Natsuki rushes out of the car, and Takumi asks what her call was about, and if her friend is ok. She says she'll tell him in the car, and Takumi is confused why she'd want to leave her friend after a crash.

On the way down the hill, Takumi is shocked to hear that the driver was Miki. Natsuki tells him that if he hadn't come, Miki would likely have had his way with her. Takumi becomes cold, and asks her why she'd get in his car if she isn't friends with him. Natsuki apologises, and says she didn't know that it'd turn out this way. Takumi tells her he'll drive her home, but that he won't come rescue her again. She tells him that she doesn't want to go home, and asks him to pull over, so she can tell him something before she loses the opportunity to do so.

Takumi stops the car. Natsuki confesses to him that the salaryman had been paying her, and that she regrets doing it, as she had managed to convince herself that he wasn't just paying her for sex, even though she knew deep down that's what was happening. She tells him that she felt like she had lost a part of herself in doing it, and she had stated working at the gas station to get that part of her back. She'd hoped that Takumi would understand, but she thinks she's wasted her time. She cries. The pair sit in silence for some time.

Takumi drives her home, and asks her how long she intends to work at the gas station for. She tells him until after they graduate, right before she heads to Tokyo, and Takumi says that's his time frame as well. He tells her they may as well see each other as much as they can, explaining that he isn't looking forward to not being able to see her, because he likes her. Takumi drives off, leaving a shocked Natsuki to react to his confession.
