Daiki Versus Tak (大輝VS. 拓海, Daiki VS. Takumi, "Daiki vs. Takumi") is the two hundred and fourteenth chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

The members of the Todo School realise that Project D might be more of a threat than they had originally thought, and look forward to the challenge. The old boys in the group look wish that they could race, but Sakai reminds them that only the current students are competing. The old boys joke that they're in trouble if Daiki and Sakai are representing them.

Keisuke and Takumi both work with their mechanics to tune their cars to their best. Matsumoto tells Takumi that he's replaced his brakes, and that he should do five laps just to make sure they're good for him. Kenta notices how serious Ryosuke looks, and feels anxious about the upcoming race.

The next day, the locals are excited to see the race between Project D and the Todo School.

That evening, Fumihiro, Matsumoto and Takumi watch the sunset. Fumihiro feels uneasy about how confident the Todo School are, as they hadn't even bothered to watch them practice. Takumi tells him that he never lets that bother him, as he finds it easier to concentrate on driving the less he knows about his opponent.
