Old Boys to the Rescue (決起するOBたち, Kekki Suru OB Tachi, "The Old Boys rise to the occasion") is the two hundred and thirty-fifth chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
At the finish line, Keisuke explains what happened in the race to Fumihiro and Kenta. Fumihiro is surprised he could come up with a strategy like that, but Keisuke tells him that it was a spur of the moment decision once he realised he had enough room to squeeze next to Sakai. He says that its good he didn't have a plan going in, as Sakai's tricks would have thrown him off. Ryosuke interrupts, and tells them to prepare the FD for the time trials.
Takumi takes the downhill time trial first, and is able to break the Todo School's course record using the skills he picked up during his race with Daiki. Keisuke follows up by breaking the uphill record, managing to beat his personal best set in the race. With both records beaten, Project D returns home to Gunma, leaving the Todo School in shock. Sakai apologises for his loss, but the old boys tell him that its fine, as none of them knew what they were up against. The old boys decide that they need to regain the schools reputation by rematching Project D, deciding to call in Tomoyuki Tachi, one of their most successful students.
The next day, Takumi visits the gas station. Itsuki tells him that his Eight-Five is in the shop getting its turbocharger fitted, and he is excited to get it back, as it's power will have doubled. Iketani asks how much horsepower the Eight-Six has, but he says he's unsure as Project D take care of any upgrades. Itsuki is jealous that Takumi gets free parts, as he had to take out a loan for his turbo.
At the Todo School, Daiki and Sakai are surprised to see Tomoyuki turn up.
