The Record Painted Over (Part One) (塗り替えられたレコード, Nurikae Rareta Rekōdo, "The Record Rewritten") is the two hundred and thirty-sixth chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
Sakai and Daiki explain to Tomoyuki how Project D had beaten them and had broken the Enna Skyline's course records. They apologise to him for shaming the school, but he says that their losses don't matter to him, and the records changing is just a natural part of racing. He offers to show them what he means, and asks to borrow Daiki's Civic.
Tomoyuki tackles the Enna Skyline's downhill, and the other old boys instruct the students to move their cars off of the road. Despite being his first time driving Daiki's Civic, and having not driven the course in over two years, Tomoyuki is able to break Takumi's record in one single run.
