Turbulence at the Finish Line (Part Two) (怒濤のゴール (後編), Dotō no Gōru (Kōhen), "Turbulent Finish (Continued)") is the two hundred and fifty-seventh chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
The two cars approach the finish line side by side, shocking all of the onlookers. Tomoyuki concedes defeat as Takumi manages to pull ahead of him.
Tomoyuki commends Takumi on the race. He tells him that he swerved to avoid hitting an animal on the road, but says that Takumi likely wouldn't have seen it because his lights were off. He says that it just wasn't his day, and that he had gotten unlucky, before leaving. Ryosuke tells Takumi that his performance was amazing.
Project D choose not to post the results of the race, as not to damage Tomoyuki's racing career.
At the Todo School, Tomoyuki decides to leave early. He thanks Todo for making him race, as the loss was just what he needed to get his motivation back. He says he'll come back if he's ever in a slump again, which Todo is glad to hear.
The next morning in Shibukawa, Bunta comments on how tired Takumi looks. Takumi notices something on the Eight-Six, and realises that he had hit a small animal. Bunta guesses that Takumi had lost, but Takumi tells him that he had won. Takumi heads off on his tofu deliveries.
