Big Time Showdown (波乱のシェイクダウン, Haran no sheikudaun, "Turbulent Shakedown") is the two hundred and sixty-first chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
Takumi and the SpeedStars head up Akina. Itsuki is excited about his increased power, but Takumi tells him to keep his eyes on the road. A car approaches behind the group at speed, and Takumi wonders if it was the Impreza driver from the previous night. The car, revealed to be a Nissan Silvia S15, blows past the two cars.
At the top of Akina, Kenji is surprised when Itsuki says he only has 150 horsepower, as he was going for 180. Itsuki explains that 150 seems to be the highest they could get out of his 3A-U, but that he's still happy with almost double the horsepower before. Takumi notes how different the Eight-Five feels in comparison to the Eight-Six, which Iketani attributes to the higher torque from the turbocharger. Takumi tells Itsuki that the car feels strained, and that he won't be able to get much power on the corners. The SpeedStars are shocked from hearing this, and think that Project D is having a positive effect on him. The Silvia approaches the top of the mountain.
