Driven by Love (恭子の純愛モチベーション, Kyōko no Junai Mochibēshon, "The Pure Love Motivating Kyoko") is the two hundred and seventy-second chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
The race begins, with Kyoko in the lead.
A member of the local team tells Nobuhiko that he thought his plan for the uphill race was good, and is surprised that Kyoko didn't go with it. They speculate that Kyoko might have a crush on Keisuke, and so is motivated to show off to him.
The two FDs speed through the course, and Keisuke is almost impressed by Kyoko's power.
Fumihiro notices that Ryosuke is distracted, and he explains that he finds it weird seeing Keisuke improve. Fumihiro remembers when they raced the NightKids on Myogi, and comments on how good Keisuke's acceleration was. Ryosuke agrees with him, and says that all of the upgrades, as well as the poor traction on Sadamine, make for a good training ground for Keisuke to improve his acceleration even more. Ryosuke says that Keisuke has five levels of acceleration control, but he needs ten. Fumihiro is shocked that there are levels to accelerating.
