The Confessions of Kyoko (恭子の告白, Kyōko no Kokuhaku, "Kyoko's Confession") is the two hundred and eighty-first chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
Keisuke admits the race was harder than it needed to be because of his settings, which forced him to be delicate with his acceleration. Fumihiro congratulates him on finding Kyoko's weakness, but he says that she had shown him the slight turbo lag when she had broken her speed. He says that her car is good in the lead, but it just can't compete while side-by-side with another car. Ryosuke tells Keisuke that they'll be practicing the accelerator skills he's learned, as they will be a powerful tool for his future.
Kyoko apologises to Nobuhiko for her loss, but he tells her that she should be proud for giving it her all. He admits that he hadn't expected Keisuke to be a strategic racer, saying their race was beautiful to watch.
Fumihiro tells Takumi that he will be in the lead for the downhill, which surprises him.
At the start line, Nobuhiko admits to himself that he knows he can't win the race, intending to gather as much data as he can for a second round of races. Ryosuke tells Takumi not to lose Nobuhiko until the first hairpin, and to let him catch up if he does pull ahead before then. Takumi is confused by the instructions, but agrees anyway. The race begins.
