The Last Barrier's the Biggest (Part Two) (最大の難関 (後編), Saidai no Nankan (Kōhen), "The Biggest Barrier (Continued)") is the two hundred and eighty-ninth chapter of Initial D.

Plot

Sakamoto practices in the Cappuccino. Wataru tells Nobuhiko that he compared his own downhill run to Sakamoto's and was amazed by how close they were. Nobuhiko is excited to see how the race plays out.

At the gas station, Itsuki is surprised to heard that Takumi is registering the Eight-Six in his own name, asking what Bunta will do. Takumi tells him that his dad plans on buying himself a new car, but that he isn't sure what.

At the Fujiwara Tofu Store, Bunta sneezes.

Takumi leaves to go and meet with Project D, and Itsuki tells him that he and Iketani are planning on watching them race.

Project D head to Saitama. Ryosuke tells Fumihiro that this race will be the hardest obstacle that Takumi has faced. Fumihiro doesn't believe him, as he's won all of his previous races, but Ryosuke tells him to just wait and see. Ryosuke decides to sleep until they arrive.
