A Quick Time-Out (つかの間の休息, Tsukanoma no Kyūsoku, "A Moment of Relaxation") is the two hundred and ninety-second chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

Kyoko strokes the hood of Keisuke's FD, even kissing it, while Keisuke looks on in shock. Kyoko notices that Keisuke is watching her, and freaks out. Once she calms down, Keisuke tells her that he'd pulled an all-nighter, and invites her out to get something to eat.

The two head to a diner, and Kyoko asks if Keisuke eats at them often. He tells her that they're some of the only places he does eat when he's driving. Kyoko thinks about what her teammate had said before, but thinks they were wrong, and that Keisuke is just a normal guy.

Project D's support staff show up at Keisuke's FD, and are surprised to see him missing. They figure he must have gone to eat somewhere, and they decide to eat by the side of the road. Matsumoto asks Takumi if he slept well, and he admits he only got a few hours rest. Matsumoto tells him that he should rest for a while after they eat, but Takumi wants to get a few laps in while it's still light out.

Kyoko is surprised that Project D sleep in their cars when they're racing, and asks why they don't stay in hotels, but Keisuke tells her most hotels don't have morning check in. Keisuke says that they should probably get back so he can get more rest.

Kyoko drives Keisuke back to Maze Pass, but Keisuke falls asleep on the way back. She decides to let him sleep, as it is raining. She thinks he's cute asleep.

At 5PM, Wataru comments on how much it is raining, and Kazumi mocks him for not being able to handle it.

Keisuke wakes up, waking up Kyoko at the same time. He is surprised that he slept for so long, and apologises to Kyoko for wasting her day, but Kyoko says that she didn't have anything planned anyway. Keisuke leaves to adjust the FD's settings for the rain.
