Bang Goes the Gong! (死闘のゴング, Shitō no Gongu, "Time to Do or Die") is the two hundred and ninety-third chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
Project D are surprised that the Cappuccino is the car the Northern Saitama Alliance have chosen to run with. Fumihiro finally understands why Ryosuke thinks this will be Takumi's greatest hurdle, as they've figured out his blind spot. Kenta thinks the Cappuccino won't be able to win, but Keisuke reminds him that everyone said the same thing about Takumi on Akina. Keisuke approaches Wataru, who tells him that he's sorry that Project D will have to lose like this, as Takumi doesn't stand a chance. Keisuke admits if it was car vs car Project D would lose easily, but that Takumi has something unpredictable about him that may win them the race.
The SpeedStars arrive on Maze Pass, and comment on the rain. Itsuki tells them that Takumi should do just fine in the rain, as he raced in the rain on Myogi with no issue.
Sakamoto decides to take the lead position, as he intends to leave Takumi behind within the first run.
At the start line, Ryosuke tells Takumi that Sakamoto will lose him in the corners, and that he will have to catch up in the straights. He offers him some advice, to remember Kyoichi Sudo's techniques from when they had raced on Akagi, as it will give him his best chance of winning, Matsumoto makes Takumi wipe the water off of his shoes.
The countdown begins.
