Ry's Crucial Mistake (涼介のミス!?, Ryōsuke no Misu!?, "Ryosuke's Mistake!?") is the two hundred and ninety-sixth chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
Matsumoto is surprised that Ryosuke thinks he's made a mistake. Ryosuke thinks luck might be on their side, as some unpredictable elements may just win them the race.
Takumi chases after the Cappuccino, and wonders what Ryosuke had meant about Kyoichi's techniques. Unable to catch up on the straightaways, Takumi believes that he's already lost.
Ryosuke tells Matsumoto that he thinks the rain might give Takumi an advantage, but Matsumoto doubts it, as it lowers Takumi's grip on the road. Ryosuke explains that the rain limiting the drivers vision might be their chance, as Takumi's talent may allow him to win.
Takumi realises he can't catch up at the ends of the straightaways, but knows that he can't win in the corners. He decides to put pressure on Sakamoto in the straights. It finally clicks for Takumi what Ryosuke might have meant.
