Alpha Plus (Part Two) (プラスアルファ (後編), Purasu Arufa (Kōhen), "Plus Alpha (Continued)") is the two hundred and ninety-ninth chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

By simply holding the accelerator down for longer, Takumi changes how the race unfolds, making cornering speed less important. The narrator explains that Takumi is using Kyoichi's techniques, which he previously had to defend against, to his advantage. Takumi finally understands Ryosuke's advice.

At the finish line, Keisuke tells the others that he doesn't like how sneaky the Northern Saitama Alliance were before the race, feeling that they don't care about winning with honor. Fumihiro says that the race would have been hard no matter what, and says that Takumi will be at an advantage if he manages to get to the second half of the course. He thinks it's ironic that the flatter section of the course will be where Takumi excels.

Sakamoto is put at a disadvantage by how unfamiliar he is with the Cappuccino, while Takumi drives as though the Eight-Six is an extension of his body. Sakamoto's confidence is damaged. He wonders how Takumi can be so persistent, while driving blind, as the rain and the spray from the road would obscure his vision.
