Lancer Evo: King of the Open Road (陸の王者ランエボ, Riku no Ōja Ranebo, "Lan Evo: King of the Road") is the three hundred and forty-fourth chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

Aikawa plans to pull ahead of Keisuke while he gets used to the course.

Fumihiro asks Ryosuke why he let Keisuke drive Kyoko's car instead of the replacement car that he had arranged. Ryosuke explains that the replacement car was a tuning car that Keisuke would have needed to get used to, whereas he has already raced against Kyoko and so already has an understanding of how her car works. He thinks that Kyoko's FD is the best shot Keisuke has at winning, but that it is sheer luck that she happened to show up.

Keisuke figures out the handling of the RX-7, and thanks Kyoko for having a good car.

At the top of the course, Nobuhiko tells Kyoko that he's shocked she would let someone else drive her car. Kyoko admits she's also surprised, but that she's happy she can help Keisuke.

Kyoko pulls off a drift through one of the corners, thrilling a pair of onlookers, who are surprised by how well he can control a car that isn't his on a course he barely got to practice. Keisuke sticks to Aikawa's bumper through the course. Aikawa thinks to himself that the Lan Evo is the best car for the mountain passes, and doesn't think Keisuke will be able to keep up with him much longer.
