Loneliness of the Driver (孤独なランナー, Kodoku na Rannā, "Lonely Driver") is the three hundred and sixty-first chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

At the top of Akagi, Kyoko tells Keisuke how smooth his driving is, but he says he wasn't doing anything special, and that he normally abuses the clutch in a battle. A pair of locals notice Keisuke and ask him to introduce them to Kyoko, but he tells them to get lost. He says he knows too many people around Akagi, which is why he had wanted to go to Tokyo.

Keisuke tells Kyoko about his teenage years; he had caused a lot of trouble for his parents by hanging around with a biker gang and getting into fights. He thinks that his parent's had give up on him, but Ryosuke still cared for him. He tells her that Ryosuke had taken him on a downhill run of Akagi, which had scared the hell out of him, but also made him realise how much faster cars are than bikes. Now, three years later, he still doesn't think his skill compares to his brothers. He takes the conversation to what they were talking about before dinner, and bluntly tells Kyoko that he can't be her boyfriend, and he doesn't want her to come and see him.
