What It Means To Race (走ることとは?, Hashiru Koto toha?, "What is Racing?") is the five hundred and forty-ninth chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
On Nanamagari, a few locals wonder how the race will go, as while Spiral have some competitive experience it didn't do much good for Katagiri. They think Spiral will have a difficult time winning, as they prioritise investing in their cars over their technique.
Ikeda greets Project D, and asks them a question: what is racing to them? Keisuke answers that it is proof he is a masochist, Takumi answers that it is a routine, and Ryosuke answers that it is a dream. Ikeda is surprised by Ryosuke's answer.
Takumi heads off on his practice runs.
