Heavy Air (Part 2) (重い空気 (後編), Omoi Kūki (Kōhen), "Heavy Air (Continued)") is the six hundred and twentieth chapter of Initial D.

Plot

Project D spend all their efforts trying to know as much about the course as they can, and getting their cars tuned to perfection. Sidewinder use the data they have gathered to try and get an advantage. The sun rises over Kanagawa, and the day of Project D's final races begins.

At 6am, Keisuke and Takumi stand on the deck of the cabin and take in their last look at Mount Fuji. Takumi still finds it hard to believe that Project D happened at all, and Keisuke says he should be thanking him, as he came to Akina to get him. Keisuke is concerned about Takumi's opponent, comparing him Takumi at the beginning of his racing career; a ghost. He doubts he'll lose, but he thinks it will be tough.
