Shinji Wavers (悩めるシンジ, Nayameru Shinji, "Shinji Afflicted") is the six hundred and thirty-sixth chapter of Initial D.

Plot

The narrator explains the similarities between the FD and the NSX, how both of them were built to draw out as much power as possible, while also being as light as possible too.

At a parking area along the course, Shinji wonders why so many people have come to watch the race. He contemplates leaving, but knows his mother would be angrier with him than Go would. He is approached by Mako and Sayuki, who ask if he's alright, and if he is there to see the race. He says he isn't really into cars, and introduces himself.

Kodansha USA (2019) version

• The FD is said to have a "light, compact rear engine", however the FD's engine is in the front. The original Japanese uses the term RE (short for Rotary Engine) which may have been confused for Rear Engine.
