Beyond Impact Blue (インパクトブルーの彼方に… Inpakutoburū no kanata ni…) is the first Act of Initial D Extra Stage.

This episode features the battle between Impact Blue and Satake.

Synopsis

Lately Mako’s driving concentration hasn’t been in rhythm as Sayuki draws out her problem. As a phone-call from Shingo of the NightKids reaches Sayuki, members of Emperor are on the lookout for other race teams to conquer. To prevent the conquest, Impact Blue’s Sil-Eighty will defend their home course against these outsiders.

Differences from the Manga

• The scene with Ryosuke telling Keisuke about the Emperor is an anime exclusive.
• The scene where Ren Nogami checks on Satake after he had crashed is an anime exclusive.
• In the manga, Takumi is present in the scene where Iketani sneezes, whilst in the anime, since Takumi did not appear in-person in Extra Stage, Itsuki appears instead.

Notes & Trivia

• Three Flashbacks of Mako from First Stage Are shown in this episode, however the clothes she is wearing differs to the original scenes shown in First Stage.
  • During the flashback when Mako dumps Iketani, she is wearing a yellow dress. In First Stage - Act 20, she is wearing a blue dress in this scene.
  • During the flashback when Mako is at the waterpark with Iketani, she is wearing black bikinis. In First Stage - Act 20, she is wearing yellow bikinis in this scene.
  • During the flashback when Mako is with Iketani during their first date, she is wearing a green jacket. In First Stage - Act 16, she is wearing a white jacket in this scene.
• During the flashback to Takeshi Nakazato's battle with Seiji Iwaki, Toccata and Fugue in D is played. This is in reference to Back on the Rocks.
• This episode, Extra Stage - Act 2 and Extra Stage 2 are the only episodes in the series to have nudity in them.
