The 85's Raging Turbo (嵐のハチゴーターボ, Arashi no hachigōtābo) is the seventh Act of Initial D Fourth Stage.

This episode features the impromptu battle between Takumi Fujiwara and his father, Bunta.

It also features the battles between Koichiro Iketani, Takumi Fujiwara and the Two Guys From Tokyo.

Synopsis[]

New challenges are popping up on Akina: Takumi is shocked when an unfamiliar car passes him with ease, and Iketani takes on a cocky circuit driver from Tokyo.

Plot[]

The episode opens with Takumi Fujiwara going back home after a delivery run. He begins to reflect on his previous race against Tomoyuki Tachi and realizes a flash of light on his rearview mirror. Realizing that it's fast, the car turns out to be a mysterious racer driving a Subaru Impreza. Choosing to either make way for the car or pick up the pace, he decides to challenge the mysterious racer to a duel since he's on Akina. Trying to shake off its attacks, Takumi begins to realize that the mysterious driver is the "talented racer of Akina." Still being threatened, he decides to do the Gutter Run to shake him off once more. However, Takumi realizes that the Impreza is doing the same as well. As both cars exit the gutter run, the Impreza, being more superior to the AE86, overtakes him. Impressed by the cars' techniques, he realizes that he still can't deal with the vehicle even if he used his signature technique and that there is no way he can beat it. Later, Takumi arrives home to find Bunta, only to realize that he's gone.

Eight-Five Turbo Fourth Stage

Itsuki arrives at the gas station with his newly upgraded AE85

Moments later, he arrives at the gas station to meet Iketani and Kenji. Wondering where Itsuki is, the duo tells him that he left work early to get his Eight-Five from the repair shop and that later tonight, he's gonna give it a shakedown. Kenji then tells Takumi of beating a Professional racer is an incredible feat, which Takumi agrees. Iketani then tells Kenji that it also makes them proud as well, since that he's making his hometown look good. Kenji then tells Iketani that Takumi has been improving his speed ever since joining Project D. Takumi states that it seems distant ever since he defeated a pro, before stating that he got beaten of all things on Akina. Wondering who the driver of the Impreza is, Takumi states that he's lost all his confidence, realizing if Project D has improved his skills. Suddenly, Itsuki arrives in the Eight-Five. He then tells Takumi and the trio that his car has gotten fast because of the new engine. Itsuki, with Takumi on his side, begin to test drive the newly powered Eight-Five on Akina, as Iketani and Kenji spectate them in the Silvia. Kenji tells Iketani that it will be a tough match and that it will not be a contest. Itsuki then powerslides the Eight Five in excitement, trying to show Takumi its technique. Takumi tells him to chill out, before witnessing another car coming behind them. Itsuki becomes shocked when he realizes that the car is coming from the straightaway and begins to wonder what the car is.

S15 passes SpeedStars

The S15 passes the SpeedStars

Takumi begins to think if it was the Impreza he encountered in the morning, only to realize that it's a grey S15 Nissan Silvia, much to his relief. Itsuki realizes that the S15 has 250 horsepower that he doesn't of course care about. Iketani and Kenji see the encounter, comparing it "like a rabbit leaping past two tortoises playing a game of race" before they argue and nearly crash.

Later on, the SpeedStars stop at the top of Akina to discuss about the AE85's changes, Itsuki states that a 3A-U has 80 gross horsepower and that his AE85 now making 150 horses is twice the original output.
