The FR Killer (FR殺しのデスマッチ!, FR-goroshi no desumatchi!) is the twelfth Act of Initial D First Stage.
It also features the second part of the impromptu battle between Koichiro Iketani and Shingo Shoji.
Synopsis[]
Shingo arrives with the NightKids and he’s calling Takumi and the gang out. His demands: A Duct Tape Death Match against the Eight-Six.
Plot[]
Iketani spins into the corner, saving himself from crashing. He realizes that Shingo had hit him on purpose and decides to chase after him. Shingo quickly pulls away, rushing through the corners and leaving Iketani confused about his technique.
The next day at the gas station, Iketani tells Yuichi about what he saw on Akina. Yuichi explains that Shingo was using left-foot braking, a technique where an FF driver uses the brake to correct the car’s balance while turning. Iketani is annoyed that Shingo ruined his first drive after his Silvia had been repaired and vows to race him if he ever sees him again.
Takumi returns home and is informed by his father about a call for him. In the evening, he wakes up from the noise and receives a call, which surprises him.
The next morning, Takumi and Itsuki are introduced to Saori, a friend of Natsuki. They go to a ranch and enjoy the day. Later, when they return home, Itsuki asks Saori about a second date. She agrees and waves goodbye. The following morning, Itsuki is cheerful and humming. Iketani asks Takumi why he is so happy and becomes jealous about his girlfriend. Iketani asks Takumi if he would be willing to drive his Silvia, as he wants to see his technique up close again.
At the roadside station, Shingo and his teammates discuss the Eight-Six from Akina and decide to target it.
That evening on Akina, Takumi doubts he'll be able to drive the Silvia as well as the Eight-Six, which Iketani dismisses, noting how well he handled Itsuki's Eight-Five. The two set off, and Iketani asks to see the braking drift. He is shocked when Takumi performs the move on the first corner. On Akina’s downhill, Iketani is amazed at how quickly Takumi adapts to his Silvia. Takumi performs a braking drift through a corner, allowing Iketani to get a good look at his technique. Back at the top of the mountain, Kenji and Itsuki are surprised when Iketani tells them he still has no idea how Takumi’s braking drift works. He explains that Takumi is on another level and that he can’t even use his driving as a reference.
Suddenly, Shingo arrives. Iketani confronts him, demanding an apology for ramming him before, but Shingo mocks him for being slow. He says that if Iketani really wants an apology, they’ll have to beat him on the downhill under his rules. Takumi angrily accepts the challenge and starts up the Eight-Six, despite Iketani telling him not to listen to Shingo’s taunts. Unable to change his mind, Iketani asks what the rules are and is shocked to hear that Shingo wants a duct tape deathmatch, where both drivers tape their right hand to the wheel, restricting their steering. Shingo and his teammates then leave.
