Dogfight! (決着!ドッグファイト!, Ketchaku! Doggufaito!) is the fifth Act of Initial D First Stage.

The episode is the second half of Takumi Fujiwara's battle with Keisuke Takahashi. It also marks the first appearance of the gutter hook.

Synopsis 

When Takumi stuns everyone with his skills in the Eight-Six, Iketani and Itsuki start plotting a way to get the new hotshot to join the SpeedStars.

Ryosuke: Hey Keisuke, tell me what went down right when he passed you. Was there any weird about way the way he did it?

Keisuke: Come to think of it, I did hear a strange sound. Like scraping.

Ryosuke: Scraping sound?

(takes glance at the gutter)

Ryosuke: I get it now. So you want me to tell why you lost? Because I think I have it all figured out.

Ryosuke: He must have used this part of the road right here.

Keisuke: A drainage ditch?

Ryosuke: Yeah that's right. He dropped his inside tyres into the ditch on purpose. By hooking the edge of the road, he resisted the centrifugal force.

Ryosuke: That weight was possible to gain more cornering force than the tyres to grip on their own.

Ryosuke: It might seem like an amateur solution maybe even a bit more ridiculous. And it goes without saying that he would have failed miserably if he had never done it before.

Ryosuke: He'd need years of practice to pull that move off so nonchalantly during a race.

(Keisuke kicks guardrail)

Keisuke: That little punk!

Ryosuke: Look, part of the fond of racing is that kind of thing happens. If you're like me it's been a long time since you've been able to get excited about our potential targets.

Ryosuke: We're going to cancel the expedition we had planned for next weekend. We're not moving on to anything until we can lock down a complete victory here.

Ryosuke: I'm going to be the one to beat the Eight-Six!

Differences from the Manga

Chapter 12

• Ryosuke telling the second checkpoint to tell him exactly what's happening is moved.

Chapter 13

• Racing scenes have been extended.
• Crowd reactions have been moved and altered.
