Green Departure (Part 2) is an extra chapter of Initial D. It follows Mako Sato meeting Koichiro Iketani again. It was adapted into Initial D Extra Stage 2.
Plot[]
At the gas station, Iketani decides to head off to meet Mako, which surprises Kenji as it isn't for several hours. Iketani explains he wants to be early this time, but Kenji thinks it is excessive to be there two hours early. As Iketani leaves, Kenji, Itsuki and Yuichi all hope it goes well for him this time.
As he heads down the Joshin'etsu expressway, Iketani finds himself oddly calm. He thinks even if Mako turned him down he would be ok with it, as at least he would have no regrets.
Iketani arrives in Yokokawa two hours early, and decides to relax in his car.
Sometime later he is approached by a pensioner, who tells him that his tour bus left him behind while he was eating kamameshi. Iketani agrees to give him a lift back to Karuizawa. While they travel to Karuizawa, the old man explains that he's travelling alone, to see the countryside. He gives Iketani the pamphlet for his hotel, and Iketani realises that the hotel is in Kitakaruizawa, much further away than he had expected. He knows that he doesn't have time, but can't say no to the old man, so picks up his speed.
Two hours later in Yokokawa, Mako arrives at the kamameshi billboard. She realises Iketani isn't there, but knows that Iketani has a cell phone and should call her if he's late.
Iketani speeds through the hills to get to Yokokawa, having gotten lost in Kitakaruizawa. Without his phone on him he has no way of letting Mako know why he's late. He decides to put all of his skills to use, and picks up his speed.
