Initial D Battle Stage is a video release for the compilation OVA Initial D Battle Stage. It had three different releases: two rental versions on VHS and DVD, and one retail release on DVD. The DVD rental was released on August 29, 2001, the VHS rental on March 8, 2002, and the retail DVD on May 15, 2002.[2]

The retail release peaked at number four on the Oricon DVD Chart and remained on the charts for a total of 5 weeks, selling an estimated 20,398 units.[3][4]

Trivia[]

  • The cover art for both DVD releases is the same, while the VHS release features different artwork.
  • The DVD release includes three different versions of Battle Stage.
    • The first is the "ORIGINAL VERSION", which is the Battle Stage itself, which also has an alternative audio track where all dialogue is removed, leaving only the Eurobeat soundtrack and sound effects.
    • The second is "MUSIC CLIP VERSION", which is 2 minutes shorter since all car intros were removed.
