Initial D Battle Stage 2 is the seventh installment of the anime adaptation of the Initial D series. It features every race from Fourth Stage, along with several races from the manga that went unshown in Fourth Stage. Unlike the first Battle Stage, Battle Stage 2 doesn't reanimate any of its battles.

- In the opening sequence, some scenes that weren't featured in the ova are shown, for example the moment when Takumi breaks the suspension of his 86.
- In Takumi's battle against Tomoyuki Tachi (AE86 vs EK9), the "Go!" is said by Fumihiro, however Sakai is the one doing the countdown.
- For Takumi's race against Joshima, out of the 8 rounds, only rounds 2 and 7 were shown in the OVA. This was presumably because of time constraints and the possible worry that the actual ending for round 8 would have been underwhelming. However, the outcome was still shown in an end via typing epilogue.
- In the same race, the surname of Joshima was misspelled as "Toshiya Jyojima"
- In the credits, "Lonely Night 2006" was credited as "Lonely Night 2005"
