Initial D Best Song Collection 1998-2004 is a compilation album and the twenty-sixth soundtrack album for the Initial D series. Released on March 9, 2005, by Avex Mode, the album consists of the openings, endings, and insert songs from Initial D First Stage to Initial D Fourth Stage, across two CDs. A limited edition of the album was also released, which included a third CD featuring the most popular Eurobeat insert songs from the anime.
The album peaked at number sixteen on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart with an estimated 21,041 units sold in its first week.[1] It remained on the charts for a total of 18 weeks, with total sales estimated at 65,118 units.[2][3]
A sequel album, Initial D Best Song Collection 1998-2014, was released in November 2024. It contains many of the same songs, as well as any themes released between 2004 and 2014.
