Initial D Second Stage Vol. 1 is the first video release for Initial D Second Stage. It includes the first 4 Acts of the anime and was first released on VHS on May 10, 2000, and later on DVD on October 25, 2000.[1] The release features the battle between Seiji Iwaki and Thunder Fire, the battle between Takeshi Nakazato vs Seiji Iwaki, and the battle between Takumi Fujiwara vs Seiji Iwaki.
The DVD release peaked at number sixteen on the Oricon DVD Chart with an estimated 6,592 units sold in its first week.[2] It remained on the charts for a total of 4 weeks, with total sales estimated at 11,884 units.[3][4] Meanwhile, the VHS release peaked at number fifteen on the Oricon Sell-Video Top 50 Charts with an estimated 941 units sold in its first week.[5] It remained on the charts for a total of 5 weeks, with total sales estimated at 3,137 units.[6]
