Initial D Volume.01 "vs FD3S" is the first non-rental VHS video release of the Initial D anime and the first for Initial D First Stage. It includes the first 5 Acts of the anime and was released on December 9, 1998.[1] In line with the title, the VHS features the first two races against Keisuke Takahashi and his FD3S, including the impromptu battle and the official battle.
The release peaked at number thirty-two on the Oricon Sell-Video Top 50 Charts with an estimated 834 units sold in its first week.[2] It remained on the charts for a total of 2 weeks, with total sales estimated at 1,688 units.[3]
