Initial D to the Next Stage ~The Way to Project D~ is a rental video release of the behind-the-scenes "making of" special Initial D to the Next Stage - The Way to Project D. It was released exclusively for rental in two formats, DVD and VHS, on April 9, 2004.^[1] The special was later included in retail releases as part of the Initial D Fourth Stage DVD Box in March 2007, Initial D Premium Blu-Ray Box Pit 2 in March 2014, and on the Initial D Memorial Blu-ray Collection Vol. 2 in February 2019.
