Keiichi Tsuchiya (土屋 圭市, Tsuchiya Keiichi) is a professional Japanese racing driver. He is known as the Drift King (ドリキン, Dorikin) for his use of drifting in non-drifting racing events. He popularized drifting in Motorsport in the 80s and 90s, and is also known for tōge (mountain pass) racing.
Initial D[]
Tsuchiya acted as a consultant for Initial D, and was an editorial supervisor in every stage until Extra Stage 2[1][better source needed]. He also assisted in the recording of car audio for the anime[2].
Tsuchiya is seen in a VHS tape drifting in a Nissan Silvia S14 and later on in a Honda NSX in First Stage Act 2 and Act 6. He also appeared in Act 23 of First Stage, where he is shown calling Bunta Fujiwara, mentioning that Bunta "scarred him for life" with his monstrous drift. He also asks Bunta if thinks Takumi will win his upcoming race with Ryosuke Takahashi. He later makes a cameo in the end credits of the last act of Final Stage at a D1GP event at Tokyo where he is seen talking to Takumi.
Tsuchiya has also been featured in many Initial D guidebooks[3] and in the audio drama Drift King Youth Graffiti. He hosted the Fourth Stage special feature The Way to Project D.
He appears in the FasterClass GR86 x Initial D advertisements, challenging Takumi Fujiwara to an impromptu race in a Toyota GR86.
He also appears as an opponent in the Initial D The Arcade X Hot Version collaboration event along with his AE86 which was available to purchase as an aeroset in the customisation shop during the event.
