The impromptu between Keisuke Takahashi and Takeshi Nakazato is the ninth battle of Initial D. This is a manga and Legend trilogy-exclusive battle.
Prior to the Battle[]
Itsuki drives with Takumi to Akina while questioning him
Takumi and Itsuki was taking a ride to Akina in Itsuki's AE85 when the latter begins to interrogate Takumi about is relationship with Natsuki Mogi. Meanwhile somewhere down the bottom of the mountain Keisuke Takahashi in his RX-7 FD3S was practicing runs on the course before his brother's battle with the Eight-Six, when he suddenly notices headlights behind him which he quickly realized was none other than Takeshi Nakazato in his BNR32 GT-R. They both decided to have a quick battle to the top on the go as they wanted to test their skills since their respective battles with Takumi's Eight-Six.
During the Battle[]
Takumi and Itsuki had stopped somewhere on top of the mountain, when they sensed two cars coming towards them at high speeds. Takumi witnesses in total awe as Keisuke and Nakazato in their respective cars races right past him. Takumi states they both are extremely fast, which gets Itsuki by surprise as he reminds Takumi that he himself defeated both before, to which Takumi states that he's been driving in this course since he was a kid, unlike them.

Keisuke goes all out drifting all the way to the top after getting the adrenaline rush he needed to fight a battle after some time, while Nakazato noticed Keisuke's improvement ever since his battle with the Eight-Six. Both decides to give out their full and battles to the top
After the Battle[]

After they both reached the top, Keisuke claimed that he was not using his full potential, while hiding he was completely sweated out from this. Nakazato, though initially surprised, also claimed the same, despite him too being tired. After this, Keisuke then says that they could have a match against each other if his brother wins the race against the AE86. Nakazato then reveals to Keisuke that he wishes to have a rematch with Takumi and about how Shingo Shoji was praising about Takumi on the duct tape deathmatch between him and Shingo despite him not always being so positive to others. He then wishes that if he could have a race against Takumi once again. Keisuke wishes his brother not to lose the battle between the him and Takumi but doesn't wish the Takumi to lose either. After this Keisuke drives away.
