Kyoko Iwase's Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7 Type R (FD3S) (known simply as the FD, or the FD3S), is the second FD3S shown in the series.

History[]

Kyoko Iwase was originally part of a car club, alongside Nobuhiko Akiyama, where she was one of the fastest members of the team. This car club would eventually go on to become part of the Northern Saitama Alliance. During Project D's Saitama expedition, Kyoko represented her team as their uphill racer, going against Keisuke Takahashi, who she had developed a crush on. During a practice run, Kyoko's FD breaks down, with Keisuke and Project D's mechanics helping her get it into working order, ensuring that the race can go ahead. Kyoko starts in the lead, wishing for Keisuke to watch her race. Keisuke eventually manages to overtake after noticing his opponent's turbo lag, much to Kyoko's disappointment.

During Project D's battles against the Tsuchisaka Lancer Evolution Team, Keisuke's FD is damaged, and Keisuke borrows Kyoko's FD for his race against Aikawa. Despite the disadvantage, Keisuke wins his race, and thanks Kyoko by taking her on a day out.

Specs[]

The car is a Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7 Type R, chassis code FD3S. It is painted in Brilliant Black.

The FD is fitted with a 13B-REW Twin-rotor Rotary engine. It had a single turbocharger[2]. The cars actual output is unknown[3], but a stock model (with a twin turbocharger) could produce 255PS.
