The Toyota 86 is a sports car produced by Toyota since 2012. The 86 GT is one of four models that were offered at the 86s launch. The Toyota 86 GT gets its name from two classic Toyota Cars, the Toyota 2000GT and the Toyota AE86, both of which were FR layout.
This car is based on Kanata Katagiri's Toyota 86 GT from MF Ghost, a sequel to Initial D by Shuichi Shigeno. Kanata uses the car to compete in MFG, a racing competition exclusive to cars with combustion engines (as they have been banned from public use) founded by Ryo Takahashi. In the fourth year of MFG Kanata manages to place 15th in the qualifiers, originally placing 16th before a regulation breach causes a competitor to be disqualified. It is car number 86.
