The Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD3S) is part of the third generation of the Mazda RX-7. It is often known by its chassis code "FD3S", simply as the FD, or as the Spirit R.

The Mazda RX-7 is a front/mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive, rotary engine-powered sports car that was manufactured and marketed by Mazda from 1978 to 2002 across three generations, all of which made use of a compact, lightweight Wankel rotary engine. The third generation was known as the FD. The Spirit R line was the last model of the FD, and was limited to 1500 units. Three variants of the Type R were offered, The Type A, B and C. The Type A was promoted as the "ultimate RX-7" due to its high performance.
Its engine, the 13B-REW, was the first-ever mass-produced sequential twin-turbocharger system to be exported from Japan.

Arcade Stage Tuning[]
Cars can be upgraded with different parts, both internal and external, to make the car perform better. The early games offer the player a choice between several courses of upgrades that they would like their car to have, whereas later games give a wider range of options, with players being able to pick what upgrades they want whenever they want them.
