The Mazda RX-7 Type RS (FD3S) is part of the third generation of the Mazda RX-7. It is often known by its chassis code "FD3S", or simply as the FD.

The Mazda RX-7 is a front/mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive, rotary engine-powered sports car that was manufactured and marketed by Mazda from 1978 to 2002 across three generations, all of which made use of a compact, lightweight Wankel rotary engine. The third generation was known as the FD. The Type RS was a high end model of the FD introduced in 1998. It featured improved suspension and brakes.
Its engine, the 13B-REW, was the first-ever mass-produced sequential twin-turbocharger system to be exported from Japan.
