The Mazda Roadster was the Japanese model of the second generation of the Mazda MX-5 (known as the NB) was released from 1998 to 2005.

The early games offer the player a choice between several courses of upgrades that they would like their car to have, whereas later games give a wider range of options, with players being able to pick what upgrades they want whenever they want them.
