The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (also known as the Lan Evo, or Evo) is a sports sedan based on the Mitsubishi Lancer range. It was manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors from 1992 until 2016. There have been ten official versions to date, each designated with a roman numeral.
Lancer Evolution III[]
The third generation of the Lancer Evolution was produced from 1995 to 1996. Two models of the Evolution III were offered, the GSR (Gran Sport Racing) and the RS (Rally Sport).

Lancer Evolution VI[]
The sixth generation of the Lancer Evolution was produced from 1999 to 2001. A special edition called the Tommi Mäkinen Edition was released in late 1999, named after Tommi Mäkinen, a Finnish rally driver who had won 4 WRC drivers championships for Mitsubishi. Two models of the Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition were offered, the GSR (Gran Sport Racing) and the RS (Rally Sport).

Lancer Evolution VII[]
The seventh generation of the Lancer Evolution was produced from 2001 to 2003. Three models of the Evolution VII were offered, the GSR (Gran Sport Racing), the RS (Rally Sport) and the GT-A, the first automatic Lancer Evolution.

The ninth generation of the Lancer Evolution was produced from 2005 to 2007. Three models of the Evolution IX were offered, the GSR (Gran Sport Racing), the RS (Rally Sport) and the GT. An optional and more premium MR (Mitsubishi Racing) package was also offered.
