The impromptu battle between Ryosuke Takahashi and Takeshi Nakazato is the third battle of Initial D.
Prior to the Battle[]
After Keisuke Takahashi's loss to Takumi Fujiwara, Ryosuke is practicing for his upcoming battle. Takeshi Nakazato of the Myogi NightKids is shown catching up to Ryosuke's FC3S in his R32 GT-R.
During the Battle[]
Ryosuke and Nakazato battling in Legend 2
Ryosuke and Nakazato battle up to the top with Ryosuke drifting into corners while Nakazato maintaining his chase while he grips through the corners.
Exclusively in Legend 2, they pass Kenji and Mamoru in his 180SX who were confused and shocked to see both of them battling.
Eventually Ryosuke decides to let Takeshi catch up to him due to his speed in the straightaways. Nakazato proves his skill by being able to keep up with Ryosuke without drifting.
After the Battle[]
The two racers park and have a conversation about the Eight-Six. Ryosuke states that he believes nobody, except for himself, would be able to beat the Eight-Six on the downhill. This annoys Takeshi, who gets back into his R32 and drives away before stating to Ryosuke that He will be the one to defeat the Eight-Six and prove him wrong.
Exclusively in First Stage, Nakazato thinks about the race that made him get his car.
