The impromptu battle between Takeshi Nakazato and the two racers is the fourth battle of Initial D.
Prior to the Battle[]
Takeshi Nakazato catches up to the two drivers.
During the Battle[]
The racers decide to not let Nakazato's R32 pass them, with one of them stating that his car has more horsepower than the AE86 that beat Keisuke Takahashi. After a couple of corners Nakazato easily manages to overtake, leaving the two drivers in the dust.
After the Battle[]
The two racers park their car on the road and comment on Takeshi's acceleration. Nakazato monologues to himself about how his car is able to beat any racer that gave him a challenge before, he then says that the 86 is the opponent he has been waiting for.

- In the manga the opponent drives an Integra DC2 while in First Stage he drives an S13 Silvia. This was probably done to save time, as they would have had to make an Integra model.
