Takumi Fujiwara (藤原 拓海, Fujiwara Takumi) is the main protagonist of the 2005 Hong Kong movie, Initial D.
History[]
He drives a Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX (AE86) that belongs to his father, Bunta Fujiwara. He has been the delivery driver for his father's tofu shop since he was young, which has given him an expert knowledge of both Mt. Akina and his AE86.
The local racing crowd becomes aware of him after he overtakes Takeshi Nakazato of the Myogi NightKids during one of his deliveries. This leads to Nakazato officially challenging him to a battle on Akina's downhill.
He later races Seiji Iwaki and Kyoichi Sudo of Team Emperor. During the latter race the engine in his Eight-Six blows, causing his first loss. The Eight-Six undergoes an upgrade, being fitted with an entirely new engine, courtesy of Bunta.
Takumi then goes on to race both Kyoichi Sudo and Ryosuke Takahashi simultaneously. After the battle, Ryosuke invites Takumi to join his new racing team.
